I finally got dial-up internet at home and I'm kind of slow getting everything in order. Since we life out in the boonies, no one will give us internet except Comcast, and they won't come out till the snow is off the ground...well it doesn't seem like it's gonna stop snowing anytime soon! I appologize for the lack of pictures for so long...
It's been a had first 5 weeks of Kenley's life. She is a crier and screamer! It's a lot harder than I imagined, but I'm getting the hang of it. Kenley is really sick right now, and I've taken her to the dr's 3 times to get her better, but they don't give us anything! She has been coughing for 13 days now and she had pretty much lost her voice! I feel bad for her, but it's kind of nice to not have her screaming all the time! They think she might have acid reflux, so she's on that medicine...we'll see how that works!
She is having a problem gaining weight though...she eat A LOT, but she just wasn't putting on the lbs! As of last week, she was only 7 lbs. and 12 oz. when she was born at 7 lbs. 5 oz. They put her on a higher calerie diet and I had to start pumping and freezing my milk for later. When we went to the dr on monday, she was at 8 lbs. 1 oz., they were happy about. Well, being sicker this week, I'm sure she's not gaining as much weight because she isn't eating as much!

Kolbri- Maddox had the same problem but weighed under 7 pounds at 6 months. I too had to pump my milk (and maybe you are doing this) but then I added formula to my milk. It was as if I made him a bottle of formula but instead of using water, I used my milk. He got tons on calories even if he didn't eat a lot. I would talk to your dr about that because breast milk is so much easier to digest and the babies will not reflux (usually) as bad with it. Maddox lost 2 pounds in a month with his reflux. Something else that helped and it is weird, was rocking him back and forth as quickly as I could. My aunt had cancer and the treatments were giving her terrible reflux- so I told her the rocking thing with Maddox and she told me she already did it because it was the only thing that helped.
I am so sorry! I went through this with Maddox and I would not have made it without help- others came and held him while he screamed. I timed him one day- he screamed for 6 hours straight! It was horrible. Also, gripe water worked with Maddox. I got it at the health food store- my dr recommended it and it did seem to help some. I am sorry about her cough. So sad it is rough for such a cute little girl!
